06 The views of all three ranges of the Galloway Hills looking north from the southern end of Cairngarroch are as good as you get anywhere - as far as seeing the general layout of them is concerned. In the picture above we have the Dungeon hills to the left of the picture and the Rhinns of Kells to the right with the Silver Flowe between. Craignaw is near the left edge of the picture with Dungeon Hill beyond it and Mullwharchar peeping over the top of Dungeon Hill. Corserine is the big boy on the right with it's shoulder ridge of Meikle Craigtarson reaching out towards the Dungeons.
In the second picture we have Loch Dee in the foreground with line of the Dungeons now starting at Craiglee just beyond Loch Dee. The Awful Hand lies to the west beyond the Dungeons with the Merrick in the middle of the picture. The Silver Flowe lies to the east of the Dungeons. Mouseover to see the names of the hills.
In the third picture I have zoomed in for a closer look at the Silver Flowe with Craignaw and Dungeon Hill as westerly guardians.
