13 All of these three pictures were taken from the same spot as we were having a little break after having left the top of Meaul and were heading down by the dry stane dyke towards Cairnsgarroch. Above is the view straight ahead (east) to Cairnsgarroch.
Stuart is in pensive mood as we look north to Coran of Portmark (in shadow) with Knockower (in sunlight) to the right of it. We went through the saddle between these two hills to get to Black Craig earlier in the day.
Looking to the north east in the third picture offers a view of Cairnsmore of Carsphairn (top under cloud) with a squall of rain running down the Glenkens valley.
