05 In the picture above we
are coming past Kockower (out of sight on our right) and that is Black Craig
ahead of us to the right of the picture. The hill with the wedge of trees
on it is called Wee Hill of Craigmulloch and there is a Craiglee behind
it. There are quite a few with that name in the SW of Scotland. The loch
just above Stuart is Loch Bradan. The botton of the saddle between Black
Craig and Coran of Portmark is just above Allan - we will come down there
once we have been to the top of Black Craig. In the second picture we are looking north over Loch Doon from the top of Black Craig at the northern extremity of the Rhinns of Kells. We are well up into Ayrshire here and the town of Dalmellington lies just beyond the northern end of Loch Doon. |
