13 In the picture above we are looking from the top of Benyellary down into the Nieve of the Spit and on to the Merrick beyond. You can see that the dyke continues to snake up the Merrick too - which is always handy to know in misty conditions.
The second picture shows the view from the top of Benyellary down the Buchan Burn to Loch Trool with Buchan Hill in the left foreground and Bennan on the right (with the trees). The Minnigaff Hills lie beyond Loch Trool and the double top of Cairnsmore of Fleet can be seen beyond them in the centre of the picture. You can see that large areas of the forest have been cut. So where the tourist route used to run through pleasant woodland low on the side of Bennan Hill back down to loch Trool, it now passes through the unsightly remains of the forest. Click this link if you would like to see a view up the Buchan Burn from Mulldonoch.
