07 As we get above the trees the view that you will be with all day begins to open up. That's Benyellary again right in the centre of the picture. Buchan Hill is the craggy top to the right of the picture and Bennan is on the left. The most popular (tourist) route onto the Merrick takes you up through the valley of the Buchan Burn that you see straight in front of you. The path leads you up beside the burn and through these trees to Benyellary. The Merrick itself is still hidden by Buchan Hill in this picture.
