01 Clatteringshaws reservoir often presents these mirror images of the surrounding hills on the still surface of the water. If you click on that link you will discover that there is a car park here by the roadside for a visitor's centre and that there is plenty of easy walking around the immediate area with places of considerable historical interest to visit. The plaque that you see here is just beside the car park. The hill on the left is Little Craignell and the hill beyond that is Darnaw where there is a memorial to people killed there in an air accident on 2nd February 1937 just after the reservoir was built.
The second picture shows the information about the dam contained on the plague.
In the third picture we are looking east across the top of the dam towards where the visitor centre is situated on the south east corner of the reservoir.
