21 As we get nearer Loch Trool on the tourist route the path gets quite a bit rougher. It runs for quite some distance beside the rocky bed of the Buchan Burn and the path too has to negociate similarly awkward boulder-strewn terrain. However you do get a continuous sequence of classic views such as the one above which in an earlier age would have been called "sublime" - made up from the rugged burn and all our old friends Muldonnoch, Lamachan, Bennanbrack and Curleywee in the Minnigaff Hills that have been with us all day.
In the picture below we are looking back up the bed of the burn towards Benyellary. There is a view of the Buchan Burn tumbling down the hillside in the Lamachan and Minnigaff Hills web gallery where you will also find a map showing these hills.
