02 In the picture above we are looking north to Buchan Hill from the start of the short track that leads south from the public road to Bruce's Stone. The single track public road ends just here for vehicles - though cyclists on the N7 route can carry on merrily eastward (to the right along the tarred road in the picture) all the way to Clatteringshaws along forest track. This is a small part of the large car park at the north eastern end of Loch Trool. There is always room to park here in my experience.
To get here you come off the A714 Newton Stewart to Girvan road at Bargrennan and then turn right off that road after nearly 2 kilometers for Glentrool Village. From there you just keep on until you come to the point show above. Below is a picture of Bruce's Stone. Mousover to zoom in.
