07 These two pictures show the view to your right (looking north) from Under Saddle Yoke. What you see in the first picture is the head of Carrifran Glen with the black face of Raven Craig in the middle of the picture. The hill beyond Raven Craig is Firthhope Rig (800 metres). There is a low sump area known as Rotten Bottom and a natural feature called Games Castle in the saddle between these hills. You can see the waterfall of the Firthhope Burn towards the right of the picture.
In the second picture the camera has been moved further to the right (east), Raven Craig is now in the left foreground and Carrifran Gans is on the right. White Coomb (821 metres) is just right of centre and Firthhope Rig to its left.
There is a sister walk on this site called Carrifran, White Coomb and Saddle Yoke which goes round the tops of the hills round Carrifran Glen just as we are going round Blackhope Glen today.
These pictures were taken at 11.25.
