06 About half way up Fauldside Hill (568 metres) there is a bit of a knoll on its face called White Hill which obscures Fauldside from view and it may come as a shock to you when you top White Hill to get the view that you see above and realise that you still have 200 metres climb ahead of you to the top of Fauldside (on the left of the picture). The hill on the right is White Shank (622 metres).
Looking further to the right (south) in the second picture we are now able to see the other hills on this ridge that we will start our day on - White Shank is on the left, then Smidhope Hill (644 metres) and Capel Fell (678 metres) on the right.
The third picture shows Bodesbeck Law (665 metres) from White Hill.
