06 In the above picture we are again looking south back over the route we have come. The tops of the classic Moffat hills are now beginning to appear - the top of Lochcraig Head is now showing in the middle of the picture with the very top of White Coomb beyond it and to the right of that Saddle Yoke is just beginning to show. We will see these hills more fully on page 07 as we near the top of Broad Law but it is interesting to follow the changing profiles as you get higher and higher. You can also see how easy this terrain is.
There are a couple of cairns just off our route as we climb Broad Law. In the picture below I have gone over to the easterly one so that I could catch a glimpse of the Megget Reservoir and St Mary's Loch beyond it. We can also see the route we will return by. Mouseover the picture to see the route and the names of the hills. We are looking just north of east here. You can see a view back over to this cairn from there on page 27.
