03 There are
two areas of fish farm at Selcoth. This parking place lies between them
at OS ref. NT137073. A hardcore area has been placed by the bridge and
there is a sign pointing out the track onto the hill, though I would not
think this is one of the most frequented routes in this Moffat Dale area.
The hills to the south of the A708 are the Ettrick Hills those to the north are the Moffat Hills. See Borders Main Map for the overall picture of the area.
In the picture below we see the start of the track right beside the Selcoth Burn. You go through that gate and just head on up the track for quite a bit before you head over onto Broken Back.
