10 Above we are heading back for Knockendock from the top of Criffel. It was a cold sharp February afternoon with reasonable visibility as you can see.

The second picture (taken 2012) shows the now familiar view of the Nith Valley. That's Loch Kindar in the foreground with New Abbey to the left (north) of it. You can see two islands on Loch Kindar. The tiny one is a crannog - an ancient man-made island. The larger island has the remains of a church on it. Ardwall, which is the starting point for probably the most popular route onto Criffel, is to the south of Loch Kindar near the bottom right edge of the picture. I went a bit off route to get this particular shot.
