When we got to Carrick Shore we found that they have put in a track up
to a view point on Knockbrex Hill (in 2005). So we went up there for a
look. The wee dog followed us all the way from Kirkandrews and back -
a kindred spirit called Iva who likes to roam. Sandy is a great man for
dogs and we shared our food with her. The stone structure that you see
behind Sandy has 3 arms with a seat between each arm, so that you can
get shelter from the wind no matter which direction it is coming from.
We have come across structures like this in the hills to give the sheep
shelter in winter storms. Below is the view out to Ardwall Isle from the viewpoint. |
