18 Here is the view looking north from Green Lowther and below I have zoomed into this picture to show the village of Leadhills the birth place of the 18th century Scottish poet Allan Ramsay. A light railway runs in the summertime from Leadhills to Wanlockhead. As the name suggests lead was mined in and around these villages and even gold - which they still pan for. |
