13 Just before you come to the
top of Lowther you will find this old disused generator shed which can offer
you a bit of shelter to
have your piece in. Even in the summer you can need this shelter from
the cold winds you get up here. I arrived at the shelter just in my shirt
and base layer and was just warm enough from the exercise of climbing. Very
soon though I had both a thick pullover and windproof jacket on. The second picture shows the fun that the wind has with the snow plus we have a cube and sphere study for the fun of it. You don't find this on too many hills. The third picture shows the situation of the generator shed high above the Enterkin Pass with East Mount Lowther on the right. This is where our route leaves the Southern Upland Way. We head north east and the SUW heads north west from here. |
