03 That's the reluctant maiden
(the Potrail Water) meandering along uncertainly to marry with the Daer
Water a mile or two from here to produce their mighty offspring - the River
Clyde. The hill to the right of centre is called Meikle Shag and the
striped hill on the left is just a shoulder running off it. Behind them
is Comb Law where we are heading. We have to get round the striped shoulder
first though to get at Comb Law so that we don't have to go through forest
to get to it. Below we have the Southern Upland Way's bridge over the Potrail Water. You can see that there is no shortage of low cloud to the west of us and this restless and at times dramatic cloud will stay with us nearly to the end of our day, obscuring and revealing hills around us as the fancy takes it. You can see the valley into which will be heading - behind the pine tree. |
