| 25 There is not much of a track from Burleywhag at first, but you come onto the vehicle track which leads all the way back to Mitchellslacks when you get to the house shown above. This track keeps to the east of the burn and to higher ground away from the immediate area of the burn. You pass a couple of abandoned houses like the above as you head down the glen, and you will inevitably speculate on what life was once like here miles away from anywhere - it is roughly an hour's walk back from Burleywhag to Mitchellslacks, and Mitchellslacks is not exactly the centre of the universe. But as I have said this would once have been a through route up into Lanarkshire. | |||
