06 Now you might wonder why I have shown a picture of a forest road at this point, but we have to cross this forest road on our way up onto Bennan and we will also cross it again further east by Culsharg when we are on our return journey, so if you fancied a wee walk you could come up over Eschoncan go along this forest track to Culsharg and go back down the tourist route to Loch Trool.
The picture below was taken soon after I had crossed the forest track. It shows what the terrain is like that we are on. It also shows you more of the Minnigaff Hills (which lie south of Loch Trool). You can now see Lamachan behind Mulldonoch with Bennanbrack to the left (east) of it, then Curleywee with the shoulder called White Hill coming off it.
