08 I have skipped ahead here to where we
will cross the burn running out of Loch Neldricken. If you want to see pictures
of the area I have skipped see pages 07 to 12
in the Wolf Slock web gallery. The pointed hill on the left of the picture
here is Craig Neldricken which we will cross later in the day, but the main
target for our day is Craignaw whose rocky face you see running right down
to the loch from the right. The surface of Loch Neldricken sits almost exactly
on the 360 meter contour and Loch Enoch which you will see in later pages
sits almost exactly on the 500 meter contour - so we are already in a quite
high overall landscape at this point - well over 1000ft. There are of course
no Munros in
the south of Scotland but who cares when you get views like this and terrain
that is much tougher than most Munros. Below I have swung the camera slightly further west and you can see the Buchan Ridge on the left now that we will return to Loch Trool by. |
