09 As you can see we have now crossed the burn that outlets from the south end of Loch Neldricken - we are on the east bank. That's the Merrick in the middle of the picture - the highest hill in the south of Scotland at 843 meters. Whereas in the Wolk Slock route we headed northwards up the east side of Loch Neldricken, and went in for a dip in the passing, today we head east into a territory I had never been in before - we have always gone up over the Rig of the Jarkness till now. I was very impressed with what I found in the next stretch. |
