the bridge over the Tweed
at Stanhope. For pictures of the monument near the source of the Tweed click
here. The picture below shows the track of an old railway line that you cross just before you cross the bridge above. This railway opened in 1897 to bring in the materials for the construction of the Talla Dam but was active until only 1910. |
