06 Looking back as we continue along the fence we get this fine view of Loch Skene, Mid Craig and White Coomb (with it's misty hat on).
The second shot catches the saddle between Mid Craig and Lochcraig Head behind Loch Skene.
In the third shot we are looking across the face of Lochcraig Head.
In the fourth shot we have started the ascent of Lochcraig Head.
The snow had a frosty crust on it which would sometimes take your weight but mostly it would give way with you and you would be up to the knees in it - which makes for a hard day's work always pulling your feet out of the clinging snow. We took 5 hours to go round by White Coomb and back down.
There is a very ancient and rare fish called the vendace which seems to be thriving in the cold waters of Loch Skene. It's presence in Britain goes back to the last ice age. On a day like this you can see why it would be happy here.
