05 This rough cairn is just before you reach the top of Saddle Yoke. The hill on the right is Under Saddle Yoke (the second, and marginally higher, of the two tops of Saddle Yoke). Redgill Craig is beyond it and Harfell Rig at the top of the glen. The corrie-like glen on the left of the picture collects the waters for the Cold Grain burn and Hartfell itself lies straight up through there.
The other two pictures show the relationship of the two tops that make the "saddle". With no crampons I was slightly concerned as to how slippy the snow would be and I kept to the right so that if I did slip there would be a convenient fence to stop me. But the snow was dry and powdery and not at all slippy.
The first two pictures were taken at 11.12 and the third at 11.16.
