31 The top of Ettrick Pen was reasonably flat but now we are coming to a steep descent towards Over Phawhope. You can see that White Shank is where we want it to be above the gap in the trees that we had to find - it's no fun trying to find your way through trees.
In the second picture I have zoomed in to a detail of the above picture to show the Mountain Bothies Association's bothy at Over Phawhope.
In the third picture we are in the gap between the trees where there is a vehicle track.
