20 After having something to eat on the top of Lochcraig Head (having my "piece" as we say in Scots) we get back on the move again picking up the old dry stane dyke on the top of the hill and heading WSW along it for Firthybrig Head. In this picture we are looking over the head of the Talla Water valley to Molls Cleuch Dod (another interesting name). Our route will take us along there to Carlavin Hill.
Compare this picture with one taken on 10th December 2008 when I came up from Grey Mare's Tail to Lochcraig Head. These tops had a bit of snow on them and the wind chill was well below zero.
