08 In the
picture above we are almost on the island and you can see the house on
it which is still used from time to time and was well padlocked up. There
is a small sandy beach just as you set foot above high water mark - which
you can see better in the second picture.
The third picture shows a side view of the building which could do with a bit of tender loving care. The fishermen I spoke to think that the National Trust for Scotland is in the process of taking over Hestan Island but I can find no evidence of that on their website and I know they are strapped for cash at the moment.
