06 Here we are out in Auchencairn Bay looking towards Bengairn (under cloud) and Screel (at the right end of the ridge). There is a web gallery on this site for a walk around Screel and Bengairn.
The second picture shows the view over to Balcary Bay Hotel.
The third picture shows the view of the Moyl hill on Almorness peninsula ahead of us. A glance at the map on page 01 will show you that it is shorter to cross from Almorness than from Balcary to Hestan, but in this picture you can see that there is a water channel to be crossed it you go that way - which you will see more pictures of on page 16 where I was standing in the water. It would definitely have gone over my boots if I had crossed it any further than I did. Wellies would probably be the answer though.
