05 My camera says this picture was taken at 9.58. That's the fishermen's hut beside the caravan and you can see the tracks their buggy left on it's way out to the nets. This was the stickiest part of the journey out to Hestan Island from here. Half a dozen steps in inch deep mud and you are past it.
In the second picture you can see that there was still plenty of water between me and any direct route to the island, though the causeway is now quite visible to the left of the island. What you do is just walk along the water's edge till you come to the causeway some fifty metres or so from Almorness Point. The sand is quite solid.
