23 It was quite steep going
down into Riccart Cleuch but the textures and patterns of light and dark
on the hillside were amazing as we look back up to Green Lowther. You would think that this picture below was taken on quite another day - so sheltered was it down in the cleuch at this point. It clearly catches the warmth of the afternoon sun down here. You can see that there is already a vehicle track this far up the cleuch to make life easy for us and lead us all the way back to Overfingland. It was very pleasant to come down here after the sharp biting wind up on the tops. |
