20 Above is the view back to Green Lowther from Peden Head the snow was knee deep and more in the saddle between these hills but only when the hard frosty surface gave way under your weight. It was the height of the fence in places and a bit awkward when you dropped into it.
Below we have the view ahead of us down Riccart Law Rig. I could have headed straight down and over Stowgill Dod that you see at the far end of the ridge, but I had spied a track coming out of Riccart Cleuch (down to the right off the ridge). Also the day was wearing on and there were signs of the weather deteriorating, so I thought I would take the easy option and head down to the right off the ridge that you see here, in order to get back to Overfingland.
