03 In the picture above we are
on Laght Hill looking ENE back down the route we have just come up along
the fence that I mentioned on page 02. The red asterisk shows where Overfingland
is. You are looking down into the valley of the Potrail Water - one of the
main sources of the River Clyde. In the second picture we have turned to look north with Green Lowther just left of centre. Mouseover to see the names of the hills. In the third picture we are facing WNW up the route we are about to go. You can see Lowther Hill right of centre and Comb Head just ahead of us on the left. The shoulder coming across the picture in front of Lowther Hill is the one coming off Cold Moss which we saw on page 02. Though most of Cold Moss itself is still hidden behind Comb Head. |
