07 As we head North West along the top of Steygail we get the view above up onto Lowther Hill. I have marked the route ahead onto the picture. You can see that as this point there is a fair amount of descending and re-ascending of short sharp hills as we come down off Steygail and then head up Wether Hill to Lowther.
The pictures below were taken on quite a different as Dunkie heads down off Steygail on the route shown in the picture above. So you go down there as in the first picture below and then up to the left on the first of those shoulders. The hill behind with the deep gully is Cold Moss with it's tail called Comb Head running away from us into the picture toward Laght Hill.
Comparing the two pictures below will help you understand this somewhat complex collection of shoulders that run down off Lowther Hill. In the second picture below the camera has swung a few degrees to the left compared with the first one and you can see the masts on top of Green Lowther just left of centre between Cold Moss and Wether Hill.
