25 Here we are up on the Roman
road looking back past the rectangular walled area and up through the water
catchment to Scaw'd Law (right of centre). Below is where the track coming up from the walled area meets the Roman road. Durisdeer Hill is right of centre and Scaw'd Law on the left edge of the picture. We are of course looking back here in the opposite direction from which we will now be heading. Following this track that you see exiting right from the picture below (along the Roman road) would take you past where the fence comes down Durisdeer Hill (the blue route would have brought you down that way of course) and past the Roman fortlet to Durisdeer village. |
