09 Wee Queensberry has two tops
to it. The first one that you come to has a triangulation point on top,
which is usually a sign that there is a good all round view from that point.
The second one has this wee cairn. The views are indeed good but it was
still a grey overcast day when I got there. The promised improvement in
the weather did not happen until I was leaving Queensberry itself for Penbreck.
In the picture below I have zoomed in on Dumfries (to the left of centre) with Criffel and the Solway Firth beyond. It would be a good view on a better day - you would also see the Lake District beyond the Solway. |
