33 Here is a view back to
that crossroads of old routes as we climb the hill away from it.
That's Thirstane Hill again that we are looking at. You can see where
we went up diagonally across it's face avoiding the wee knob on the end.
It's always satisfying to look back and think "I went up there today"
as you come to the end of a walk.
The picture below shows the view as we walk back along the old bridle
path back to where the car is parked (marked with a red asterisk). You
can see that we are walking along a low ridge which as we noted earlier
has the valley of the Enterkin Burn to the right of it here (north) and
the Dalveen Path to the left - pleasant easy walking. |
