17 As we get to the top of Peden
Head the skyscape is a bit dramatic as you can see above. Turning down onto Riccart Law Rig in the second picture this is the view we get ahead of us, easy going to begin with but further down you come into peat hags which are a wee bit more tricky, though the reward is you always get more wildlife among peat hags than on the open hill. Comb Law with the stripe of snow-lined wall up it is on the right. The dark hill in the right foreground is Faugh and Stowgill Dod is at the far end of the rig. You can also see Daer Reservoir. The third picture shows you the view looking south from Riccart Law Rig. Mouseover to see the names of the hills. The fourth picture catches Lowther Hill with a dramatic sky and a view right through to the Solway Firth past the saddle between Comb Head and Cold Moss. |
