11 Here we are looking up the valley of the Gairland Burn. Buchan Hill is on the left of the picture and you can see a track half way up the face of this hill. That is the track taken in several walks on this site from Glentrool to Loch Valley and Loch Neldricken, to the Rig of the Jarkness, to the Dungeon Hills and to the Wolf Slock. It is often called "The Lochs route onto Merrick". In the image below I have zoomed in a little into the above picture and if you mouseover you can see the names of the hills.
