| 40 Here we are starting the descent from Buchan Hill back to where we are parked by Loch Trool. I remembered it as reasonably easy to come down here but I probably last did it in winter when the fern wasn't chest high and the path was easy to find, and also before the cows had got to work on it. I found this the worst part of the day - never knowing whether you would find rock, ground or hole in the invisible no-man's-land beneath the fern. I tumbled a few times rather than try to stay upright and put a strain on my knee. I'm sure there is an okay path up here in winter though. |
