Looking for a route from Craiglee down to the Glenhead lochs Looking for a route from Craiglee down to the Glenhead lochs Looking for a route from Craiglee down to the Glenhead lochs
31 Now I am beginning to eye up the possibilities of heading directly off Craiglee and down to the Glenhead Lochs and it looks feasible as you can see in the picture above. It is awkward ground though as you pick your way down through the rock terraces. I carry a walking pole on my pack in case my dodgy right knee should pack up on me; just for emergencies in other words. But here I made good use of the pole all the way down from Craignaw and past the Glenhead Lochs till I joined the Southern Upland Way. You just never can tell what this innocent looking grass has in store for you underfoot - it is awkward. On just such ground I tore the ligaments on that dodgy knee in a deep but invisible hole covered in grass.
Looking back up the route we are descending from Craiglee towards the Glenhead lochs
