12 I headed south just over
the top of Milldown to find some shelter out of the north wind and I took
my time over having something to eat. At first Meikle Millyea which you
see in the picture above with the Lochans of Auchniebut in the saddle, were
shrouded in low cloud, but as I sat there it was lifting all the time. In the picture below we are looking down on a series of lochs running from right to left into and across the picture. The first is Loch Dungeon, then Loch Minnoch, then Loch Harrow, and in the distance Loch Mannoch. The group of hills, Cairnsmore of Carsphairn, Beninner and Moorbrock in the Scaur (or Carsphairn) Hills can be seen just left of centre in the distance across the plain of the Glenkens. Not a bad place to sit and have lunch out of the wind. |
