08 To get the picture above I went over to the southern edge of the ridge before I got to Taberon and looked south towards Broad Law (the second highest hill in the south of Scotland) with it's civil airlines tracking station on top. The patchwork that you see on the hillside is created by burning patches of ground to provide food and shelter for the grouse.
In the picture below you can see how the ridge swings south as it approaches Taberon Law. That's Dollar Law that you can begin to see peeping over the saddle between Taberon and Middle Hill (going up out of the picture to the left). The vehicle track still gives easy walking.
