23 And here are the picnic benches outside
the cafe.
There are public toilets here too as we learned form the road sign. They
are just past the cafe. Moments before this picture was taken these benches were filled with motor cyclists who had Geordie accents (from the North East of England around Newcastle/Sunderland). They had passed us travelling at a fair rate of knots just before we got here and they were still being served when we arrived. Sheep wander freely around on the A708 and they are in no great hurry to get out of your road when you drive up to them - sheep with attitude. We had actually had to stop on a corner with a couple of them in the middle of the road while driving up to start our walk and we shuddered to think what would have happened to the bikers if they had met that situation. |
