08 In the picture above we are about to
cross the Kirkstead Burn just by Old Kirkstead. It is quite a steep, though
short, descent down to the bridge. Notice that there is a stile over the
fence just beside Allan. In the picture below we are beginning to ascend Kirkstead Hill and looking back over the route we have come so far. Mouseover to see where the tower is (marked by a red asterisk) and the route we have come from it. You can see Allan has put his jacket on we were getting a squall of rain at this point, which remained a threat all day but never really developed into anything too serious. |
