08 The picture above shows the view north across
the top of Chapelgill towards Tinto Hill. The village of Symington can
be seen beside the red asterisk near the right side of the picture above.
The Hope Burn cleuch that you saw in page 07 is on the left of the picture.
We will head down the ridge to the left once we are passed the head
of the cleuch.
In the picture below we have passed the top of the cleuch and are arriving
at the county boundary fence (in the foreground) which we will follow
up onto Culter Fell and beyond. The fence that you see at the right
of the picture has been with us as we crossed the top of Chapelgill.
