Here we are on the top of Crofthead looking south out onto the
Solway. Again Criffel is guarding the approaches.
In the picture below you can see where we leave the SUW. We turn right at this gate and the SUW goes straight on along the fence line south westward into the picture, though in fact most folk do the Southern Upland Way from west to east and so would be coming towards us in this picture.
