| 15 Here we are at the triangulation point on the top of Cairnsmore of Carsphairn looking SSW back over the route we have just come up. Cairnsmore of Fleet is just right of centre. It is quite common to find shelter cairns built round trig points like this. It is here that most people would stop to have a snack and take in the view but you need shelter from the wind on the tops - even in late July I was glad of it. I spent about three quarters of an hour up here, catching occasional glimpses of the sun and taking in my surroundings. |
