05 In the picture above we have come back onto the main street. The main carpark and tourist office on our right.
The first building beyond the carpark which fronts onto High Street houses (as you can see in the second picture) a the post office, a well run coffee shop (which is good for light snacks) and a kiltmaking business with good informative displays about the history of the kilt. There is also a supermarket below the coffee shop. You can also see a sign advertising Cream of Galloway ice cream which is made at a farm close to Gatehouse. They also offer very popular adventure park facilities for children there.
