23 Above is a view back up through
the catchment area with a feeder burn for the Potrail Water. I certainly
did not take the easy option by coming down this way from Scaw'd Law - it
was tough coming down that hillside never knowing how deep the snow would
be and slip sliding around in it. However I was aware that there is a short
sharp descent from Durisdeer Hill down to the Roman road below Well Hill
and when on the top of Scaw'd Law I decided to come down through this catchment
area I knew I might be taking the safer option - being without ice axe or
crampons. In the picture below you can see right through to the trees at Overfingland as we look down the way ahead for us. |
