Merrick, the Dungeon Hills and the Rhinns of Kells from White Hill Merrick, the Dungeon Hills and the Rhinns of Kells from White Hill Merrick, the Dungeon Hills and the Rhinns of Kells from White Hill
33 In the picture above we are beginning to descend from White Hill and we are looking straight north up the line of the Dungeon Hills - Craiglee overlapping Craignaw and Craignaw overlapping Mulwharchar as they head inward and to the left from the centre of the picture. Merrick is on the left edge, Loch Dee is on the right edge with the Rhinns of Kells beyond and the Silver Flowe down in the hollow between the Rhinns and the Dungeons.
In the picture below I have used a lot of zoom so that we can see over Craiglee and Meikle Craigtarson (which is the westerly shoulder of Corserine) to Loch Doon up in Ayshire where Robert the Bruce had a castle He must have seen this view and wondered how the future would work out for his troubled country when his fortune was at a very low ebb. He probably would not have been able to see Loch Doon from here though - the level of the loch was raised in 1935 for a Hydro Electric Scheme.
